UNA Music Festival
It seems like I am always talking about something music related, but I live in the Shoals, I can't help it. Thus Friday and Saturday UNA is having its first music festival at Flowers Hall. I'm not sure if there will be funnel cake or not, but I know there will be good music. One of my favorite bands, Mute Math will be headlining Saturday night. Also, Big Boi (or Outkast) will be headlining Friday night. There is music for everybody. If you bust out your college ID, tickets are only $18, but for everyone else, tickets are $30.
Ok, so I know the price difference is public knowledge, but here are some absurd tips on how to get into concerts for free.
- Volunteer, They usually need help at merchandise tables, tickets booths, loading sound equipment, or even ushering.
- Help Promote, like volunteering before the show by helping the promoter hand out flyers, etc. Be sure it's clear that you are doing this in exchange for free entry.
- Know the Band, Bands usually get what's called a "Guest List" of 2-5 people, depending on the size of the show.
- Organize the Show, This sounds ridiculous, but I've seen some of my favorite bands, for free, because I put the show together, not to mention you get to meet them.
- Be in the Band, Also ridiculous, but just like organizing the show, I've been able to watch and even meet huge bands because I was in a band that opened for them. They may even compliment you ;)
- Win a Bet, Then have your losing friend pay your way in! Ok, I'm just running out of ideas now.
Do you have any good ideas on ways to get into concerts for free?
