Life for Cheap: Clothing

This week we have been talking about how to save money in everyday life. If there is one thing that rivals food as the top expense in my budget it's clothing. Especially in between seasons. Just like any expense, it is important to know how much you can spend before you go shopping. So as we see the spring as the light at the end of this cold tunnel, let's not blow the lid off of our budget.
Honestly, it's so easy to save money when buying clothes. There are way too many ways to mention in this couple-paragraph blog post. So here are just a few simple, common sense tips, along with some resources you may not have known, that will get you going in the right direction:
  • Only buy from the sale or clearance rack.
  • Consignment shops are great.
  • Thrift stores are better!
  • Shop online (eBay, 599fashion.com, 15dollarstore.com, modaxpressonline.com, 6pm.com, getheavenly.com, etc.)
  • Buy off-season clothing and save it!
  • It's fine to window shop at those mall clothing stores, but check to see if Target or Old Navy has the same thing before you buy it.
What are your thoughts? Where have you gone to save? Or what is your secret?

Chris
